One of those great bloke evenings...

A very trying day at work deserves some sort of treat in the evening, say I. Today was a scorcher in the office, the air-con packed up and everyone was visibly wilting. We held a sweepstake in the afternoon as to exactly how hot it was. I won with a temperature of 31.8 degrees. A princely sum of seven pounds was mine for the spending. I treated the guys (with the addition of a few extra quid) to ice cream which sent them all in a late afternoon sugar rush of office cricket and baiting the French contingent.

Anyway, I came home with a stack of new CD's as a treat. The girlfriend was working late, so whilst preparing dinner I played music loudly and jigged around the kitchen whilst making a quick sesame and chili chicken with green bok choi and rice noodles. The joy of a dish like that is it always looks quite impressive when the girlfriend gets home and takes the heat off my prodigious CD buying habit.
Oh, and the best thing is I have a ticket to watch Flash Gorden on the big screen tommorow night in the open air at Someset House! High Camp Sci-Fi in the courtyard of one of Londons coolest old buildings, brilliant!
CD's of choice this evening: The Magic Numbers, The Mitchell Brothers and , of course , more Johnny Cash!
