I didn't take this rather lovely shot of figs. It comes from the Waitrose Food Illustrated article on figs in this months issue. Which I wrote!
Yes, fame and fortune beckon. Sort of. Well, not really actually, I was just really rather chuffed to be asked to do it and they made my recipes look amazing, so I'm doubly happy.
Here's the online version but go out and buy a copy, you'll see my gurning mug in the contributors page.

I read the first paragraph and it is so what I would expect from you. Brilliant. I'm going to buy the magazine and enjoy reading your writing while I hold the magazine. This is beginning to sound like a love letter. Figs will do that to you.
that's so cool. well done. of course we can't find waitrose mags here, but i'll be sure to read the online article
Oh, I do miss Waitrose! I used to walk an extra ten minutes out of my usual run just to pop into the one on Marylebone for a few treats. Well done. It's great to see some, fruits, ahem, to your labours, isn't it?
congrats to you!
My compliments! I have been a fan and avid reader over the past year. Glad to see you blogging again...I miss your posts!
Mr. Jam.

Fabulous.
Back off, Barbara.
I've just discovered your lovely blog and I've read your article in the Waitrose mag - I'm a huge fan of figs (with Goats Cheese is my favourite) you see. And of you now too! What a lovely picture indeed :) Would love to swap links if you're keen...
I live near a wonderful newstand that stocks the Waitrose magazine so I was able to get a copy. Lovely article--sorry I took so long to tell you so.
I love figs and adore Waitrose - it makes shopping for food a pleasure :-)
